The 2-day event will be held at the WIAA Office in Stevens Point on Friday
& Saturday,
April 25 & 26, 2008.
Those invited to the event will come from among a group numbering about 35 –
including
current members of the WADA Executive Board, Past Presidents of the WADA, and
the current members of the WIAA Sports Advisory Committee.
Russ Gerke, principal at West De
Pere High School, will be the facilitator for the sessions.
Bill Vickroy CAA of Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School and WADA Past
President,
is the coordinator of the event, which has been planned by the WADA Board at
numerous
meetings during the past year – including its meeting held in Madison in
March in conjunction
with the WIAA Boys State Basketball Tournament.
Friday’s session begins at 2 o’clock p.m., when attendees will “step outside
the box” to
envision what WADA will become in the next 3 to 5 years. It has been determined
by the WADA Executive Board that the organization needs to be more than just
a
Workshop-based entity.
Saturday’s session is expected to last until 3:00 p.m.
