Evergreen Country Club info – from their web
site:
Opened in May 2005
---- a new clubhouse featuring:
10,000 sq. foot clubhouse with a new pro shop, pub, and
banquet facility.
A challenge for the expert, fun for the beginner!
In 1973 Evergreen Golf Course was developed and it has matured into one of
the top rated public golf courses in Southern Wisconsin and Northern
Illinois. The golf course features 27 championship holes
that are located on scenic rolling terrain. Evergreen provides manicured
fairways, large undulated greens and a varied selection of tee boxes. Water
hazards come into play on 15 out of the 27 holes, and numerous bunkers
surround the fairways and greens. The golf course also has well defined
yardage markers to increase the pace of play. The unique layout of the
Evergreen Golf Course offers a challenge and fun experience for all skill
levels.
Evergreen
Golf Club was developed and opened as an 18-hole public golf course in 1973.
Evergreen
Golf Club along with Evergreen Estates home sites were developed and owned by
Mann Bros., Inc.
The layout was designed by Ken Killian and Dick Nugent of Chicago and built
by Mann Bros., Inc.
The original
18 holes are sited on approximately 150 acres of a former dairy farm. The
clubhouse was previously operated as a restaurant under such names as the
Lone Oak and The Crest.
The original
18 holes consisted of the current 9 holes of the South Course and holes #1
& #9 on the
East Course, along with holes #1-5, #8 and #9 on the North Course. The
original layout played as #1-5
as they now are on the North Course, current #8 North was #6, current #9
North was #7, and then #1 East was #8 and #9 East was #9 followed by the
current South course as holes #10-18.
In 1993, the
East Course was added to make up the current 27-hole facility. The East
Course opened
for play on July 1, 1994 on a 110-acre portion of the former Hartwell farm.
The 9-hole addition consisted
of current holes #2-8 East along with # 6 & # 7 North and the 55 home
sites of Rolling Green Estates.
The outdoor
pavilion and grill, which hosts our golf outings, was added in 1998. The
pavilion seats
200 guests.
The new
clubhouse which opened in May 2005 includes: a banquet facility with seating
up to 300,
pub, pro shop, and patio.
