CERTIFICATION
REQUIREMENTS CHANGE
Effective January 1, 2005 the new LTC requirements
for certification will be:
CAA must have LTC classes - 501, 502, and 504
CMAA must have LTC classes - 501, 502, 504,
506, and 3 courses from the leadership group and 3 courses from the
management group.
STRATEGIC PLAN UNDERWAY
At the February Board meeting, members were
appointed to the 2006-10 strategic planning committee. Section meeting agendas will include
a discussion of the new plan to obtain member input. The timeline calls for the plan to be
drafted at meetings in October 2004 and December 2004, reviewed at section
meetings in Spring 2005, approved by the Board July 2005, and presented to
the membership in December. 2005.
Contact your Section Board member with any comments or for the names
of strategic plan committee member in your section or state.
WEBSITE GETS NEW LOOK!
The NIAAA website has been given a new
look. The site is now more
organized and easier to navigate.

Please check your state’s directory
information on the website to make sure it is correct and up to date. If it is not correct, send Bruce
Whitehead an email with the correction.

MEETING HIGHLIGHTS
· One officer will try to attend each spring
section meeting and Frank Kovaleski will be attending all sections. The
schedule is as follows:

· Discussion of the President Elect process.
· Established a committee to review the
committee appointment process.
· The Board was briefed on the meeting of the
state AD Association executive directors/secretaries in August.
· Future budget concerns were discussed
including the strategic plan, web-casting of the LTC classes, and conducting
a national survey.

BOARD GOALS 2004
1.
Implement the Second Strategic Plan timeline:
- Gather input from various summer section meetings
- Develop a survey and solicit responses via email.
2.
Expand the focus of NIAAA membership:
- Include new, junior highs, middle schools, and
independent schools administrators.
- Involve State Presidents, liaisons & Executive
Directors
- Encourage Section board reps to attend the state
conferences in their section.
- Develop a more effective tracking of member renewals.
- Share membership promotion ideas between states.
3. Continue to pursue corporate partners.

INCREASE
THE COMMITTEE POOL
Please
encourage the members in your state to submit a committee application. Our goal from our December liaison
meeting was to have at least 2 people from each state in the committee
pool. So far 20 states have met
this goal. Committee application
forms can be found on the website or in the POP manual.
